All Rabwah Futcel football tournaments won by the YBFC A

Young Boys football club arranged a Futcel Football tournament. In the final of the contest YBFC football club the title after beating Dettol Warriors in a close contest with the score line of 2-1. 8 different club teams took part in the tournament and all the teams were divided in two groups where all the teams played three pool matches each. Four of top rank teams from each group qualified for the Semifinals of the tournament. YBFC and Dettol Warriors reached in the final of the contest after winning the semifinals.  But in the final battle YBFC got the triumph after winning a nail biting and close fight. Despite the lack of facilities and promotions it was a thrilling tournament and a large number of players took interest in the competition.

ISLAMABAD: Mumtaz Qadri, whose death sentence was upheld by the Supreme Court of Pakistan for shooting to death Punjab governor Salman Taseer, appealed the President of Pakistan for mercy. But President has not yet decided to forgive Qadri with a lot of pressure from religious groups.

According to sources at Interior Ministry, Mumtaz Qadri’s appeal for mercy will be decided with the councling of all the stack holders..

Mumtaz Qadri, who was part of the security detail of Salman Taseer, had shot the former Punjab governor multiple times in Islamabad on January 4, 2011 for allegedly committing a blasphemy.

Qadri has, in his appeal addressed to President Mamnoon Hussain, stated that he is the only breadwinner in his family, and thus, deserves the state’s mercy.

President Mamnoon Hussain will decide whether or not to condone the death penalty of Mumtaz Qadri, who had confessed to murdering Salman Taseer.

ISLAMABAD: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) on Monday announced the 5th ranking of Pakistani Higher Education Institutions for 2013-2014 with an aim to boost academic and research culture among universities, and encourage them to compete at international level.

The ranking was carried out under various categories including Engineering and Technology, Business Education, Agriculture and Veterinary, Medical, and Arts an Design.

The major criteria for evaluation of universities were Quality Assurance, Teaching Quality, Research, Finance and Facilities, and Social Integration/ Community Development.

Quaid-e-Azam University Islamabad topped the overall ranking list.

The QAU is followed by University of the Punjab Lahore, National University of Sciences and Technology, University of Agriculture Faisalabad, Aga Khan University, COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS), University of Karachi, University of Health Sciences Lahore, and University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore.

Under the Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences category, University of Agriculture Faisalabad has topped the list followed by
University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore, Sindh Agriculture University Tandojam, and Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water and Marine Sciences.

Iqra University Karachi, has topped the Business category. The University is followed by Lahore School of Economics, Institute of Business Administration Karachi, Institute of Management Science Peshawar, Sukkur Institute of Business Administration, SZABIST, The  Superior College Lahore, Institute of Business Management Karachi, University of Central Punjab Lahore, Greenwich University, Karachi and others.

Under the Arts category, National College of Arts (NCA) Lahore remained at the top, followed by Indus Valley School of Art and
Architecture Karachi.

Aga Khan University is the top scorer among universities falling under the Medial category. University of Health Sciences,
Lahore, Dow University of Health Sciences Karachi, Khyber Medical University Peshawar were on the second, third and fourth position respectively in the list of as many as 13 universities.

The ranking also covered the Engineering category comprising 21 universities with National University of Sciences and Technology  (NUST) followed by Pakistan Institute of Engineering and AppliedSciences (PIEAS) Islamabad, Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Science and Technology Topi, and Institute of Space Technology Islamabad.

as many as 73 higher education institutions have made their place in the General category with QAU, Islamabad; PU, Lahore;
COMSATS, Islamabad; KU; PMAS Arid Agriculture University, Rawalpindi; Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), Lahore; Government College University, Faisalabad; and University of Peshawar on the top.

Rabwah,s biggest cricket league has been won by the team Nasir after a thrilling and nail biting final against team Mehmood in the ground of Darul Yaman Wasti on Wednesday.

Masroor Cricket league was organized by Majlis Khudam Ul Ahmadiyya Maqami and teams were divided by the club system. Team Nasir and Team Mehmood qualified in the final of the tournament after beating their opponents in the quarter final and semifinals of the tournament.

Final of the tournament proved to be a nail biting contest as team Nasir bated first and gave the target of 100 in 8 overs. In reply team Mahmood played a wonderfull innings but managed to score 98 runs just one short of target and team Nasir won the match with the margin of only one run. In the end the winning trophy and awards were given to the players by the chief guest of the ending ceremony. Mr. Husban Ahmad won the best batsman award with 226 runs whereas Mr. Zubair Ahmad won the Best bowler award with 17 wickets.
