PCB think tank has decided to replace the wicket-keeper with a new captain. Wicketkeeper captain Sarfraz Ahmed of the national team. Ending the tournament at the 5th position in the World Cup 2019 July 2 in a two-word press conference had said that he would not be separated from the captaincy but the Pakistan Cricket Board would decide on his future.

The 32-year-old Sarfraz Ahmed led the national team in 13 Tests, his captaincy won 4 Tests and suffered a defeat in eight. It is reported that before the ICC Test Championship, the board has decided to withdraw the test leads from the captain of all three formats.

According to sources, there is no proposal to replace vice-captain Asad Shafiq as captain for the replacement of Sarfraz Ahmed in Test cricket. The 29-year-old Sean Masood has scored 793 runs in an average of 26.43 in 30 Tests in 15 Tests for Pakistan. The highest score was 228 for Pakistan with the help of centuries.

A further decision will be made at a cricket committee meeting in Lahore on August 2.
